The video "existence" is part of the video installation, conceived by Hendrik Silbermann in 2019.
We see a moth caught in an invisible web, struggling to escape. “Existence" is a drama en miniature. The tension is only broken at the very end – will the winged creature free itself or, exhausted, succumb to its violent captivity. Captured in black and white, the film depicts a disturbing but not unfamiliar moment in nature in which we find both familiarity and fear. Hope, failure, surrender, perseverance – the silken thread on which our lives hang is revealed over and over again. The question remains:
how much influence do we have on the most basic, existential condition of our existence?
